A story of King Léopold that stretches years and touches the lives of the Congolese and changed them forever. The book is a quick read, you can finish it in a single afternoon. I now have a better understanding of what it’s like during the colonial years in Africa and the role that the Africans played in the slave trade. Good or bad on the part of Africans, slave trade is never justified. A good book that I would like to reread again. My only problem is that the book needs better formatting. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021 )
